assembly'2020

in 2005, during the epic voyage, i drove to helsinki for one the most iconic events in the demoscene, assembly. it was such an amazing experience! i always though i would return there, but somehow never happened. and i'm even part of a finnish group, accession.
this year, because of covid-19, assembly too was an online event. so i participated with three tracks:

- "quando vier a primavera", 6th place at the streaming music compo, originally a jazz track that, somehow, got into drum'n'bass. it was supposed to have the voice of Pedro Lamares, a portuguese actor and a friend of mine, but copyright issues made me record my voice instead of his. hopefully, a final version with a proper and copyright free recording will be released... maybe...

- "acid music is so fine", 5th place at the acid music compo, which is strange, as it was my very first attempt at acid. nevertheless, i was very happy that people like it. "acid music is so fine / feel the beat of 909 / acid music sets you free / fly away with 303" are cheesy but effective lyrics... thanks kb for the help - basically he just taught me what acid was and how to make it.
acid music. i meant acid music, of course.

- "waltz with me", 3rd place at the fast music compo, made in 1 hour between work and picking up the kids. another jazz fueled track, featuring the mighty licc. i even made a recording of the process, so you can see how i make this stuff and criticize my use of the english language.

thanks to assembly organizers for the whole experience, it was a lot of fun! a huge shout out goes to lug00ber for mixing the acid music compo - hello trsac! - and for the nice words during compostudio. i'd like to aknowledge sir garbagetruck as well, my mentor in accession, and a good friend that i hope i can work with very soon!
see you next time!
