online molvania zscene gathering'2021
in 2003, a group of australian writers published a travel book about the fictional country molvania. little did they know that it would grow to international fandom, specially after they produced a video clip called "electronik supersonik", featuring Zlad!, the supposed winner of molvanian idol. i say supposed, because story goes that the guy who was going to win, ob kuklop, was strangled by one member of the jury, who was obviously working together with Zlad!. anyway, in 2005 i wrote an article in the demoscene magazine PAiN, where i describe the first molvanian demoparty, aptly named molvania zscene gathering. lots of harmless fun, surely.
following the pandemic and the online parties trend, ps organized mid february the OMZG, online molvania zscene gathering 2021. he asked me to make some kind of musical appearance, so i decided to go to molvania and play some demoscene tunes with ob kuklop and his blacksmith and part time dentist igor kovacki.
the whole party was awesome. the shader royale was epic, and the music compos were truly great: we had an "a capella" compo and also the Zlad! remix compo, where we had to reimagine one of the two hits by the known molvanian star. don't tell anyone, but besides the winning entry, i've done the candytron / electronik supersonik mash up. i must say that it took me longer to make that one than the other latin version. oh well... :)
